The Classic Console Table is the foundational design of Mokuzai Furniture.

Many years ago, when we first struck out on our journey to create unique and artistic wood furniture, we hit the road to display our furniture at fine art shows up and down the east coast. To apply to these carefully curated shows, we needed a collection of work to submit to the judges for review and the very first piece we created was the Classic Console Table! With a touch of inspiration from Shinto architecture, along with the characteristic pairing of simplicity and functionality that is mid-century modern furniture design, this beautiful narrow table was born.

One thing we love about this design is that it truly looks good at any size! Our customers can order this as a CUSTOM classic table, in whatever is just the right size for their space, and it is guaranteed to be beautiful.

The lines are clean and simple but within that minimalist design style, there are so many special details!

Did you know…

• The lines in the grain patterns on the front of the legs are mirror images.

• Each and every edge and corner of our Classic Console Table is carefully shaped by hand. Rather than just sanding them over, tiny profiles are cut with special hand tools softening the sharp edges of the wood.

And one of my favorite details…

• The unique, hand-cut dovetail feet! These dovetails add stability to the narrow table design and they lock all of the pieces together ensuring a lasting piece of heirloom quality fine furniture. But the best part about them is how pretty they are! Peyton’s chisel work is elegant and extremely precise. The dovetails are then not only functional but they are also a visually stunning design highlight!

They have been searching for an interesting, high-quality console table that fits in a tricky space, and the Classic Console Table is the answer! At only 10” deep, the Classic Console Table is the perfect solution for entryways, hallways or behind the couch.

Even though it is a narrow table, with a shelf it adds even more helpful functionality to small space decorating. Many of our customers will add a bowl or a tray for dropping off their keys or the mail when they come through the door.
